How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4344395 / WB30T10130 Haliant Element

Installed new burner 

Replaced with a new one and found a broken terminal had caused the problem 

Replaced it with new Genuine GE Burner. It was a very straight forward repair. I removed the old burner. And cleaned the area. Put in the new burner. Made sure all the connections were tight. It worked perfectly. 

Replaced with part ordered 

Ordered the Genuine replacement part, took some before pictures and replaced it. 

Remove 2 screws (1/4”) from bottom side on front of the stove top. Raise the stove top and keep in place using piece of wood. Remove 3 clamps holding element in place, disconnect wires to old element and remove. Reconnected wires and clamps, secured stove top. Works great! Took about 15 minutes beginning to end. 

Replaced heating element 

Replaced the element. I did have a problem getting the clips that hold the element in place to snap back in. I expect that was due mostly to my inexperience performing this repair. 

Remove 2 1/4 inch screws at the front of the top. Lift the top up and release the clips around the bad element. Disconnect the electrical connections from the old element and install on the new element. Lower the top back into place, replace the two screws and turn the power back on. 

My repairman was going to charge over $225 just for the part. I sent him packing and crossed my fingers as I order the replacement element from you folks. I incorrectly ordered a size too small, but by the time I realised the part was already on it's way. Returned that one and ordered the correct size. Then, after two false starts using incorrect videos, I landed on a video that was EXACTLY my GE range and the instructions were perfect., I just turned it on and it is working beautifully! I am a 64 year old female who is fairly capable of minor home repairs, but I have never attempted an appliance repair myself, so this was confidence building to say the least!
