How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3997949 / MSWF Ge Smartwater Mswf Refrigerator Water Filter

Did trouble shoot and found the Water Filter Manifold was not working. Replacement of water filter did not contact the activation valve in the manifold which did not allow the flow of water to the ice maker or water dispenser. Replaced the Manifold and now the system is working fine. 

Reasonably easy, except auger coarse nut was stripped, too, making the removal of the auger from the housing difficult. Make sure to wait until plastic comes up to room temp to avoid cracking plastic. Saved me at least 300.00 by doing it myself. No service calls, no hourly labor. No random people in my house. 

I just replaced the filter 

Replaced the part....but the rep did give me the right let which I am happy about 

Replaced the fill tube as well as the fill valve.
