How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3206294 / WB06X10436 Hood Damper Assembly

Purchased damper assembly on Tuesday, had it shipped regular shipping and received it the very next day,Wednesday, WOW ! Very happy to be able to install it on Thursday. Benefit, no delay and the customer was delighted... 

I bought a GE Microwave from someone to replace unit that had gone bad. Repair was easy; 1st I removed to screws at top and flipped motor assembly so blowers were facing up, then I slid hood damper assembly in at top, then reinstalled microwave and now when I press the vent button, the exhaust goes outside thru duct work. Very East!! 

Just fantastic! 

I very quickly received the part and slid it into place and installed microwave.

Purchased vent adapter from appliancepartspros.com. Successfully installed adapter in exhaust line. 

First we took the siding off the house, then we took the boards off that were underneath the siding, then we took the siding that was underneath the boards that were underneath the siding, then we took the boards off that were underneath the siding that were underneath the boards that were underneath the siding, then we took off the boards that were underneath the boards that were underneath the siding that were underneath the boards that were underneath the siding. Second, were replaced the studs, added insulation and OSB board, cut a hole in the OSB added an outdoor vent, pulled out the microwave, slide the damper assembly, put the microwave back up, wrapped the back wall in house wrap, added insulation board and put the siding back on. :) 

A previous remodel of my mothers new house did not include venting the microwave hood exhaust to the exterior. I purchased the hood damper assembly, removed the MW, reconfigured the fan assembly, cut a hole in the wall, reinstalled the MW and then installed a vent boot on the exterior. Works as intended now. I should add i'm a professional and do this kind of thing for a living. 

Cut hole in back wall. Installed new outside vent cap. Installed new adapter from Appliance Pro.
