How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891612 / WR30X30972 Icemaker

Replaced ice maker in just a few short minutes! Did have to use the wire conversion but did not have to change the water inlet tube. Works perfectly and was delivered faster than expected! 

Purchased the freezing tray component and swapped it out. Done in 10 minutes. Works great! 

As described in the video the repair took approximately 10 minutes. A couple of hours later we have ice!!! 

Got part next day as promised quickly installed with great installation instructions 

Watched your video. Purchased the part and installed it per the video. 

Ordering ice maker kit and installing 

Ordered the icemaker around 10:30 Monday morning and had the part around 4pm Tuesday. It took all but 5 minutes to change the icemaker out.Two hours later had ice again. 

Replace ice maker with Ice Maker Part No: WR30X10093. Removing the old ice maker cable was not as simple as shown in the video. The connector was "hidden" behind a lower assembly that had to be removed. 

Ordered the part and received it the next day. Took about 15 minutes to install and was very easy to do. 1 screw out, disconnect the wiring harness from the auger and out it came. However, did have a little difficulty lining up the wiring harness on the new icemaker since it was so stiff and VERY little room to work in. So I popped out the ice auger then hooked up the harness the re-installed both the auger and new icemaker. Done! Works great. Thanks a bunch everyone. BTW, your video on this was very helpful as well.
