How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891612 / WR30X30972 Icemaker

Replaced ice maker in less then five minutes, very easy, one screw and one electrical connector. 

I watched the help videos first, then ordered the parts, and installed all items as in the video. 

After defrosting the freezer, removing the mound of ice on the connector and inside the motor housing, I removed the one screw holding the icemaker in place and removed it. I also removed the motor housing below it and cleaned the ice out of that. After reinstalling them, it soon became clear that the same problem remained. With all the excess water, I counted on there being no blockage in the H20 feed lines and that the valve was OK. So I ordered a new icemaker. Removing and replacing the icemaker itself was only a 5 minute job, involving the one phillips head screw securing it to the left wall of the freezer. Defrosting the freezer and removing all the excess ice from the leaking maker was the time-killer. 

People need to realize that it is not difficult to do it yourself. Your web site makes it easy. They need to make sure the model # comes off the appliance to be sure they are buying the correct part. There is not need to pay a company to come to your home for the majority of repairs related to appliances with your web site. You even supply a video to insure confidence. Thanks, Rich

Ordered a new ice maker and water valve which was easy to replace. the ice maker is working now. 

Ordered new one from appliance parts pros. Recieved or the next day & installed it in less than 10 minutes. 

With patience and much help-guidance from APP Michael P he guided me through removal, , obtaining correct replacement part and then installation when part arrived the NEXT day WOW, what service. Michael was wonderful. knowledgeable and folloqwed up until all was done. great job thaank you so much PMI 

Replaced with new one 

I ordered a new ice maker according to the model number of the fridge, The ice maker wasn't the same as the one I had, but I replaced it anyway, I had to do some work on the Ice bucket to allow the on/off swing arm to operate but other than that the job went well and took about two hours.
