How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891612 / WR30X30972 Icemaker

Purchased a new icemaker from Appliance Parts Pros and installed it following the instructions provided on your website. Prompt delivery of the part, installation instructions were very good, and icemaker worked very well. 

Bought a replacement icemaker for $135 and installed it myself in just 15 minutes.

Replaced entire icemaker 

Ordered a new ice maker kit and installed it. Standard delivery got the parts to me in 3 days. 

After expelling the ice cubes the icemaker would stop. Moving the expelling fingers manually would allow the ice maker to continue for another cycle where it would again stop upon expelling the next batch of ice cubes. I ordered a replacement ice make from appliancepartspro.com, and in about 20 minutes with just help of a Phillip's screwdriver and a flat bladed screwdriver I was pushing my refrigerator back into position after a simple replacement involving only I screw and I power connector and moving a few pieces over from the old ice maker, all under the clear and complete instructions from the appliancepartspro website. Very easy installation and within 2 hours I had my first batch of new ice and the cycle repeated itself until the tray was again full of fresh ice.

Went on line to get a look at possible solutions without replacing the whole assembly. Found that it had to be replaced so i started looking for the part and some how-to videos. Found an excellent video at AppliancePartsPros.com along with the part I needed. It cost a little more than if I purchased from Amazon but was more comfortable getting it from this web site since they had what I needed, their garranty and had dealt with them before. Simplest job ever. Only two screws holding the unit in place and a plug.
