How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891612 / WR30X30972 Icemaker

I got a new icemaker kit from AppliancePartsPros.com. It arrived in 2 days and it was very easy to install. Aso with the part requested came the instructions to fix it. 

Replaced ice maker with Electromechanical ice maker kit WR30X10093 (ap4345120) . After install it took about 20 hours before full ice production. Hardest part is routing the wire plug in with the pig tail in the back of the tray for a clean look. This added to the install time and freezer cooling down. 

It was literally 1 screw, it took me less than 15 minutes from start to finish. I now have nice ice again! 

Replaced with new unit..tube provided did not fit my freezer but was able to take plastic container that super glue comes in and cut the end off and made adapter to connect water valve outlet to the tube provided.it would have helped if I hadn't lost old tube while procrastinating.hated adapter cable .pain to get to fit my model.momma is happy and I can retire my 7 ice trays.actually replaced same unit years ago.wasn't as hard then ..didn't lose any parts and the adaptor cable seemed more flexible. 

HAD TO USE POWER CORD ADAPTER TO MAKE CONNECTION. AFTER USING THE ADAPTER, THE CORD HAD TO BE ZIP TIED UP IN ORDER TO MOUNT THE NEW ICE MAKER, 

Identified part on-line, ordered, received and had local contractor install. 

I had a hard time finding the right replacement for my refrigerator since it was out of production. AppliancePartsPro had the part. Although a bit pricey, I ordered the part. The part came very quick, which I was very pleased, with their service. The part came with a few extra's which are used for a metal lined fridge. It was very easy to replace. 1 1/4 in bolt holds the unit to the fridge. I simply unplugged the ice maker from the fridge, removed the bolt, took unit out and replaced it with the new one. Ice bucket was full within 24 hours. 

I called the Pros and with two days, my new ice maker was at my door. Easy to install with the directions that were supplied and now I have ice. Thank you so much for the quick shipment. Ramiro Rodriguez
