How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5645233 / WB13K10043 Igniter Glow Bar

I replaced the igniter and heat deflector shield. 

Installed new igniter glow bar. The original did not have continuity.AppliancePartsPros.com has extremely fast shipping and great customer service. 

Removed bottom pan from oven. Removed metal wiring cover from the bottom rear of the oven. Disconnected igniter. Pulled range away from the wall. Removed wiring cover from the lower right of the range. Disconnected igniter wire (plug).Removed old igniter. Installed the new igniter. Reassembled removed parts. Not difficult other than having to work inside the oven. 

Well, they sent the wrong one, then they sent a part for an electric stove (they had the serial# model # ect and sent a part that does not even go to my gas range I called them back to find out how to send the parts back and the lady said that she would refund my money don't worry about sending the parts back. After a few weeks with no refund I called again and was told that I do need to send parts back. I ordered my parts through a local appliance repair place. Easy fix, I just wouldn't recommend this company to get parts from 

Replaced the glow bar by unscrewing the cover and the glow bar. Unplugging it from the back and inserting the new part. Ran into a stripped screw that made the project last multiple days until I could get a hold of the correct size rachet size for the screw (1/4). After getting the screw out it took a matter of minutes to complete. Shoutout to Appliance Part Pros! The part was the cheapest, easy to figure out things on the website, insanely fast shipping and everything worked great. I will definitely be returning for any repair need because of how well everything went! Also loved the repair details and time estimate provided! Helped me plan the repair in my schedule better knowing what time block it could take! 

GE oven would not show hotter than 100 degrees on bottom oven. Turned out the igniter in bottom oven was broken, literally. A small chunk had broken off. Easy to fix, 4 screws inside oven and 4 screws in back. Hardest part was pulling the oven from the wall. 

Pretty straight forward repair to replace glow bar. Remove the oven pan (two screws in the back). Unscrew old glow bar (two screws) and remove the lower cover on the back of the stove (maybe four screws) One tip I will give is after you unbolt old glow bar to cut wires right behind it and then tape fitting from new glow bar too old wires then you can go behind the oven and pull out the old wires and the new wires will come thru with it. 

Igniter element 

Needed to replace the igniter bar and a plate above the igniter bar because it had a hole blown through it. Really easy- screw in and plug in. I attached a pull string when I pulled the old igniter bar plug through the hole into the oven so when I needed to pull the new one back, it was much easier because the insulation can get in the way. Also note- double check new screws. Without thinking, I got zinc plated screws and turned on the oven- horrible smell and could have gotten very sick. Replaced with stainless and things are great. Note to self- ALWAYS use stainless screws when there is going to be heat. 

Replaced the igniter and heat deflector. The heat deflector was installed incorrectly at the factory. GE refunded me for the parts.
