How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2021171 / WB15X10020 Microwave Door Handle

Purchased handle from AppliancePartsPro. Used the website instructions and replaced it with a new one. 

Ordered the part, which came in less than 24 hours via standard shipping, replaced part. 

I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros and it arrived within two days! I hadn't realized they also sold a part for my dryer that I needed and when I called to see if I could have it shipped together and get a lower shipping cost, the agent said she would credit the shipping cost of one of the items instead and still have it sent in the same amount of time. Great customer service! The part arrived very fast ant was exactly what I needed. It took less than 10 minutes to replace by using a flat head screwdriver to take the plate inside the door off to get to the screw hole for the bottom handle. The plate snapped back in without a problem and you wouldn't be able to tell that it's a replacement handle.

Ordered a new one. 

Ordered the replacement part which arrived the next day. Did the Google search to repair a microwave handle. The photos were quite similar to the model we had and after just a few minutes the inside backing of the door was removed and the two screws replaced. Took less than ten minutes. Needed only a screwdriver and kitchen knife. 

Easy 10 min fix- pop the trim off to access bottom screw. This is the trim that goes around the outer face on the inside of the door. Next remove the top screw, handle is now off. Instal is opposite. Note- Inner trim is plastic, be careful when removing it. Slide a flat head screwdriver under the trim and slowly walk the flat head screwdriver around as you pop the trim off. Do not pull hard on it. 

I Googled the make and model and the part I needed and came across AppliancePartsPros.com. The web page was very user friendly and within 5 minutes I found the correct door handle. On Friday I filled out the required information and credit card numbers and within a total of 10 minutes my part was ordered and confirmed. I received the part the next day, Saturday. I was in shock that it had arrived so quickly. As a matter of fact I was in denial that the package that had arrived was even the door handle for my microwave. I didn't pay much attention to what the package contained thinking it couldn't be the door handle for the microwave, but It was! 

Ordered new one from AppliancePartsPro.com, order came extremely fast. The only problem I had was the original screws did not go in very far, since it was plastic it took extra time to tap out the holes to keep from splitting. Once that was fixed it install very easy. 

Ordered a new one.
