How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7220294 / WR02X45206 Mwf Manifold

I thawed out line, and changed the filter. The unit still "growled" and water stream was pitiful. I then ordered the part from you based on your excellent video N.B. Following placing the order, the problem went away!!! It has been 6 days and things are still OK, but I do know that in a few weeks the problem will return and I'll have to install the part. At least now I am "armed and ready" with the part. Thanks. 

After looking up similar problems that people had with their GE refrigerators online and narrowing the problem down to the water filter head, I came across a video on your site that clearly explained how to replace the broken part. AppliancePartsPros made it simple to troubleshoot, order and replace my filter head assembly and probably saved me over $100 in repairs.

I had isolated the problem to this piece. After viewing the installation video it was clear this was a simple repair. I ordered the part on Monday and it arrived Tuesday by noon. No special delivery was checked. It took about 25 minutes to complete the change and water was pumping at full force. Very pleased with the ease of online ordering and shipping the same day was an added perk. I have these guys added to my favorites and they will be my "go to" guys on any future appliance problems. 

Replace the water head tube assembly. Worked like magic. Took 20 minutes 

Replaced the "GE Water Filter Head and Tube Assembly Part" #AP3414864 (WR17X11618). 

I first started by replacing the GE water valve (located @ the rear, bottom, left of the fridge). That didn't solve the issue, but didn't hurt to replace. I had plenty of water pressure coming in from the wall outlet up to the back of the filter and into the fridge; but wasn't getting any quality pressure returning down the line from there. I realized I needed to replace the MWF filter assembly. I purchased the MWF filter assembly and replaced. It's a fairly easy and staraighforward repair. There are 2 hex screws that hold the filter assembly in place. They're accessed through the front fridge door, and upper right corner. You will need the proper hex socket and an extender piece to reach it. I used my drill on the lowest setting (as to not strip the screw housings). Other than that, you just run the new assembly through the hole, line up the 2 screw holes and screw in. Then on the rear of fridge, you'll need to re-attach the new intake water line to the wall outlet & the return water line down to your water valve. Re-attach the metal protecting plate on the rear bottom of your fridge and you're done. 

Water stains on the basement ceiling but not visible on the kitchen floor but going under the kitchen cabinets. Investigation took me to a water leak inside the frig & initially thought it was the water line to the ice maker; but NO it actually was the main water line (fitting) going to the MWF Manifold (water filter assy)! Removed the fitting and found a 1" crack & small hole in the supply line above the securing nut. Watched the DIY video to replace the Manifold Assy and said I can do that; so ordered the part plus new filter & replaced it myself! Video was very helpful and job complete plus saved $$. Took me slightly longer than the video estimate but decided to completely clean the frig during the replacement. Now, fix the mess in my basement ceiling 

I looked online and searched the problem and many videos said it was probably the manifold . I went on Appliance Parts Pro and saw it was a total of $ with tax to repair and was actually a simple fix. So my husband watched the video and it took about 15 minutes to change the part and all is working great! So glad I didn't have to call someone in to look at and what not that would have easily been over at least $200 repair.
