How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7220294 / WR02X45206 Mwf Manifold

Replaced the water filter head 

With your excellent brand name original replacement part, it was an easy fix. The first replacement part I purchased was a aftermarket knockoff which failed from the start. My advice, by from a reputable parts dealer. You are that dealer for me. 

After trying to reach GE parts, and could not purchase the part I needed. I went on YouTube and watched how to replace the manifold which I found. It was very easy they also recommended AppliancePartsPros.com and I was very surprised they had what I needed and delivered it very quickly 

Called AppliancePartsPros.com and described the problem. They recommended the new part which arrived in two days. The video on the site for the repair was excellent. It took about 25 minutes to take out the old piece and replace it with the new one. Works perfectly now. 

After determining the actual water filter was not the problem, I called APP and they were very helpful in finding the filter manifold. The price was fair. Shipping was fair and was 3-6 days out. Surprisingly, it arrived the next day. There is also a very good "how to video" on the APP website for this particular repair. I followed the repair video instructions and everything went well. Saved 150.00 in labor by doing it myself. 

Replaced the cartridge manifold and new water filter. 

I got information from appliancepartspros and determined that I needed a new water inlet valve. I also ordered the water filter head and tube assembly due to worn out rubber gaskets. I also ordered a new water filter. I watched their video and saw how easy it was to change parts. I had no problem changing the parts and the problem was solved. 

It turns out there is a pressure regulating device in the filter head assembly that indicates it's beginning to fail by causing a rumbling noise anytime water is flowing through it - replacement is the only option. The Appliance Parts Pros video on Youtube for replacing this assembly was spot on and made the job incredibly straight forward 

Replaced the water filter head in about 10 minutes. 

Replaced the filter head which has a shutoff valve that enables you to change filter without shutting off the water supply. Over time and changing filters the contact point wears down and does not open the shutoff valve far enough to enable a good flow of water. After replacing the filter head water flows normal.
