How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7220294 / WR02X45206 Refrigerator Water Filter Head And Tube Assembly

Bookmarked the link to the repair part debating whether to hire a professional or try to fix it myself. Figured at least getting the part myself would make my eventual repair bill less. Thanks to other’s stories and the how-to on site decided to try it myself. It really was easy. 

Tried several new parts of our own choosing. None fixed the problem. Finally called Appliance Pros. Talked with representative Gaye Y. Explained the problem. She suggested checking the filter manifold for a leak. I didn't see any leak. but decided to get a new manifold and filter. Placed my order with ApplianncParts PROS. Parts came within two days. Parts installed and got water immediately. Thanks to this company & Gaye for her expert knowledge. She also sent videos that were very helpful in the installation. Thank you, Gaye. 

I watched the video and saw the exact same issue and I ordered the parts to fix it. They were reasonably priced and genuine manufacturers brand. I used express delivery and they arrived in 2 days. The replacement went fast and easy as I followed the “Pros “ instructions. Fridge is working great with a good quiet water flow. 

Thought it was the solenoid, but after replacing that part the issue was not resolved. Ordered and installed a new bracket for the water filter. Issue solved. Easy to install and about $50. Much less that the new fridge my wife was contemplating. 

Replaced the water inlet valve and the water filter housing. It fixed the ice maker but the dispenser would still not work. Found that on this model the water tank is in the freezer door and it appeared to be frozen. I left the unit unplugged with the doors open overnight and both now work fine. 

An installed new water filter assembly. 

Replaced the water filter manifold and it now works perfectly!

Watched the troubleshooting/repair video and determined it was the water filter valve. Ordered the GE part and did the replacement myself. 

I followed the instructions..& they were right on time.
