How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7220294 / WR02X45206 Refrigerator Water Filter Head And Tube Assembly

Replaced the water filter manifold because the water tubing had cracked and was leaking. Just note when doing repairs to any appliance to check that the part is compatible with your appliance. Replaced manifold assembly at upper right side of fridge. 

Installed new filter holder with valve. 

Was requested to order a new filter kit. It took about 15 minutes to replace and it works great! 

Checked filter, supply, and supply after the filter before the dispenser. Called to APPros to ask if could be the water filter hub. I ordered the part and put it in. 

Ordered three parts 1. Water intake valve 2. Pipe and valve to the internal filter 3. Pipe to the freezer. Watched the video to replace them at AppliancePartsPros.com and fixed it in 45 minutes after receiving the parts in less than 3 days. It cost me a total of $90 and got the problem fixed in under 3 days. A service pro would have charged me at least $300 plus parts and would have taken at least a week to troubleshoot, order parts and then come repair. I went online and watched a video on how to replace it. Then ordered the part. 

Ordered GE MWF Manifold, Part #: AP6891555 (WR17X22074). Installation was straightforward using video tutorial on YouTube with both removal and installation instructions. Only issue encountered was the tubing insulation was slightly thicker on the replacement part which made feeding the lines through the back of the refrigerator somewhat difficult. Water flow and ice making capabilities restored after installation. 

Followed the You Tube video and had it completely replaced and operating within 20 minutes. Saved myself about $140.00 in labor to have somebody do it. Thank you
