How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2031031 / WB44X200 Oven Bake Element

I fixed with it the help of Appliance Parts Pro.Using their live help line ,where I actually spoke with a live person.She knew her stuff.She gave me complete easy to understand directions,helped me order the exact right part,and answered alot of questions about the job.They also had a great video that showed exactly how to replace the element. The part came to my home the NEXT DAY. With the Pros help this fix was apiece of cake. 

Turned off the breaker for the stove, Found the model number, removed and measured the old element as a check. Put the model number into AppliancePartsPros website and ordered the recommended replacement and a set of drip pans as the old ones were corroded. The parts arrived within two days which is very fast service. The replacement was quick and easy. Note having a flashlight helps and the new element connects to the wires using threaded screws, which were provided. 

I ordered the part on-line for this 50-year-old oven and received the shipment in 2 days. The installation time was estimated to be no more than 15 minutes. It took a little longer than that due to difficulties attaching one of the oven wires (shorter than expected) to the heating element. It worked, and now I'm back to using the oven. 

It's a 1974 GE oven, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it's still available. The photos on the site, and the Q & As from previous customers, made me feel reasonably sure I was ordering the right part. The replacement element arrived quickly, it's the right size (there were two sizes listed) and so far it's worked great. Very pleasant transaction. 

We found the replacement part and ordered. It came to us unbelievably fast. The burned part had already been removed along with the oven racks. The connection was made for the wires and the bracket put into place using a socket. Worked like a charm.

The heating element worked perfectly in my nasty old 1960's stove that I just love, the upper oven has not worked for nearly 10 years. I had no idea they still made parts for the double oven GE P7... until I found your site. I am thrilled to have both ovens functional... That old oven will live to bake all kinds of yummy dishes for my family once again. You may post this as a review, or send me a link +++ 5 STARS too. 

Ordered the replacement part from you - and it was the CORRECT part (there are dozens of them). It arrived in three days. Appliance repair man came today Dec 28th, unscrewed the old burned out part - and replaced it with the new one. Total $65. I had to call him as I could not get the second set of screws out! All well! You and he both are great!!! 

Thanks to Appliance Parts Pros, I was able to get a replacement lower baking element for our ‘80s model GE wall oven. Replacement is fairly easy. Turn off circuit breaker before starting. Would be super easy if door could be removed. Tools needed: #2 Phillips screwdriver, 1/4” nut driver or 1/4” socket with at least a 6” extension and a ratchet. Remove cooking racks from oven. The element mounting plate (on mine) is held onto oven back wall with two 1/4” hex head screws. After removing the hex head screws, gently pull the coil out towards you. The wires attached to the coil (element) are attached with two Phillips head screws. Remove the two screws and pull the coil out of the oven. When reinstalling the coil, tighten the screws gently as the two mounting terminals on the coil bend easily. Reinstall the coil to the oven with the two original screws. Turn circuit breaker back on and test operation. You will get a little smoke from the coil as it has a little protective oil coating on it. That’s it! I took the extra time to clean the oven while the racks and coil were removed. 

Replaced it. 

Ordered a new element and put it in myself. Of course it would’ve been a lot easier if I had taken the door off right from the get go! The only issue I had was for some reason the screws didn’t line up exactly with the old holes. So I ended up using one of the new screws and one of the old screws.
