How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2014008 / WB2X9154 Gas Range Oven Igniter

After viewing your video on the possible problems I concluded that it had to be the igniter. So I ordered it from you and was pleasantly surprised when I received it sooner then expected. Because or better said due to your video I had the repair done in less than 20 minutes. From start to finish, Thank-you so very much, I will recommend your company and videos to all family and friends. 

I surmised that it was the igniter so I ordered the part and watched the video on the site. The video was incredibly helpful and pretty well done. The only problem was that the screws that came to attach the igniter to the burner were too long, so I had to go to the hardware store to get a few washers to rectify the problem. All in all, a pretty easy fix. This saved me a couple hundred dollars at least. 

Replaced the igniter found on Appliance Parts Pros. Not the easiest part to remove on my GE model, however not the worst repair. This is the third time I have turned to Appliance Parts Pros after the manufacturer provides limited or no part numbers or repair manuals. Definitely my go to site. All parts have been accurate and promptly delivered. 

We watched the instructional video provided by Appliance Parts Pros and it was fixed in no time. Thank you for all of the professional help and more importantly the money savings. (VS buying a new one). 

Fixed! The hardest part was getting access to the screws on the back of the oven holding in the burner. Once those were off, it took maybe 20 min to repair and put back in. 

Removed two machine screws holding ignitor. Remove wire cover plate. Carefully pulled wire out from stove wall back exposing the snap connector. Pressed plastic connector mindful not to let it drop back behind stove wall. Saved old parts. Received my new ignitor. Contrary to instructions the plastic connection didn't fit so I spliced the old plastic connector to the new unit. Carefully snapped connection, fed into back wall. Covered with the plate and mounted the ignitor. The old girl fired right up! 

By replacing the igniter 

Ordered part, watched the how to video that posts with the part you order, followed along, that fixed the problem. Oven now ignites. 

The electronic igniter can NOT be lit with a flame by hand. You must replace the electronic igniter. Watch the entire repair video, pausing the video as needed to follow along. I was able to replace the electronic igniter myself by following the repair video, and my oven now works perfectly. 

I followed the online video on the AppliancePartsPros.com site. It was easy to remove the oven door. Remove bottom panel to access oven igniter. Remove bottom drawer to access and disconnect wires. Remove the burner with the igniter. Remove the old igniter from the burner and cut off the electrical connectors. Attach connectors to the new igniter, then reassembly everything back together.
