How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2020569 / WB13K21 Oven Bake Igniter

Replaced the igniter. The website provides a nice video detailing how to make the repair. It turned out my oven repair was even simpler than the video. All I needed was a screwdriver and socket wrench and about 30 minutes. 

Replaced the igniter. In order to get access to the screws holding the igniter in place, it was necessary to unscrew the whole broiler piece. There was no video available for this, so it took a few minutes to figure out where it was attached. Once I did that it was relatively easy. The other complication was that the existing connection had no plug, just wires joined together, so I had to cut the wires on the replant splice the ends together. All in all, well worth doing it myself rather than paying a repairman at least $150 

Replaced starter. Very easy. Unplug, remove door by lifting off hinges (no screws), remove bottom from oven interior (2 screws), remove gas assembly (3 screws inside, 2 screws back panel, unplug old starter), remove starter from gas assembly (2 screws), insert new starter, plug back in, replace back panel, replace gas assembly, replace stove bottom, replace door, plug in oven. 

Bought replacements from appliancepartspros.com and watched your repair video. 

Removed the old ignitor installed the new ignitor, oven works like new. 

I assumed it was the igniter since broiler did work. igniters looked the same, i was tempted to switch igniters, but i would need to cut both wire, unsure if that was smart. After a period of time I did find the stove model number (not an easy task), call the chat room for help. They gave me the proper P/N for igniter and I ordered it. Since this was Labor Day weekend, shipment would not be until Tuesday, it arrived Wednesday. I also viewed the video, which gave me good info to remove the door. Removal of old and installation of new took about 1/2 hour, and it worked. This was less time than finding the model number. Very satisfied with Appliance Parts Pros, especially on a holiday weekend 

Replaced the igniter by unplugging and replacing the new igniter in. Took less than ten minutes. (the igniter had already been removed from the stove). 

Replaced the Range Control Module, (this supplier was the only one of over a dozen that was able to supply the correct component, while all others shirked looking for it or claimed it was "Obsolete" Replaced igniter and alls well. If your changing your module, do it carefully, and take pictures of the original wiring configuration to avoid mistakes. The service and pricing from Parts Pro was excellent, highly recommend. 

My stove was even easier than demo video. Did not have to pull stove away from wall. Just remove old igniter and plug in new one. 

I just took the old out and put the new one in. After looking at the video.
