How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4355888 / WD08X10075 Dishwasher Lower Door Gasket

It was a snug fit and required flexing the inner wall of the washer such that I had concerns about it cracking. But I eventually got the old gasket out and the new gasket in. 

Replaced the lower door gasket.. 

Googled potential causes for the water leak and opened AppliancePartsPros.com. Then confirmed that the original lower door gasket was damaged. Ordered a new gasket which arrived in only 2 days. Their website was also great in having a movie to show exactly how to replace the gasket! Great information and service! Highly recommend!! 

Replace it. 

Replaced broken hub spray arm mid, drain pump assembly, circulating pump impeller kit, tub gasket and lower door gasket. Luckily the parts are still available. The installation video for the parts was a great help. Thanks. 

I noticed the bottom door gasket had cracked and had tears in it. I ordered a new gasket from APP and received the part on my doorstep even before the ink was dry on the order form. Bottom line is that my dishwasher wasn't down for more than 24 hours. Using just a Phillips screwdriver and needle nose pliers by sliding the old gasket off its rail and sliding the new one into place. It took a little finesse after removing the screws off the inside door liner and prying up the bottom of the liner so gasket could clear the door hinge. It helped using a hair dryer to heat up the new gasket to make it just a little more flexible to slide into place. Yet, I did not have to disconnect the dishwasher to slide it out of position to tilt up to remove the door in order to replace the gasket. Thanks APP. 

After receiving the lower door gasket & watching your video it took a while because the bottom screws were rusted on & would not come off. But I was able to slide the broken one out & the new one in. It was awesome. Instead of spending a thousand dollars on a new one or $250 for a repairman just to come out, I fixed my dishwasher for $23.11 shipping & handling included. Plus I was so happy with myself. My dishwasher works fine again! 

The gasket that this GE dishwasher called for was $95 little piece of plastic. This one I order I knew was different but for $20 I try. Everything works great fast shipping also. 

Because of prior repair help from AppliancePartsPros on our Whirlpool dryer, I immediately went to their website for help when water flooded out the bottom corners of the door on our 2007 GE dishwasher. I immediately ordered a lower-door gasket. The part arrived within 48 hours, and with the excellent aid of the instructional video, the part was immediately installed, taking only about thirty minutes… most of that time was devoted to removing hardened residue along the lower edge of the mounting point. Upon running a test was cycled, there was found to be a small drip emanating from the lower right side of the door. I learned the hard way that I should have replaced the tub gasket, as well. The needed gasket arrived the following day and with, again, the excellent aid of the installation video the minor leak was immediately repaired. My advice: order both parts at the same time. My own fault, and a learning experience. I thank you for not only the amazingly prompt service but the great videos that helped tremendously!
