How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7215773 / WD21X24901C Dishwasher Main Control Board

Found your website online and followed the troubleshooting method. Appeared the main control board was at fault. Ordered the board from you and replaced it. Success - dishwasher worked as it should. 

Replaced control. Took a few times to reset. Had to be patient and turn off and on power and wait. Then do it again after waiting for at least 30 minutes. 

Ordered main circuit board @ 8:30 A.M. Immediately received order confirmation from AppliancePartsPros. Received shipping confirmation and Fedex tracking number later that day. OEM GE part arrived 52 hours later. Followed instruction as shown in AppliancePartsPros video. Only tools needed were 1/4" nut driver, 5/16" nut driver and flashlight. 

Checked your website and performed the check of voltage as described. Did not get any voltage so could not determine if it was the control board inside the bottom of the dishwasher or the user control board on the top of the door. So, I ordered both boards and if the first one worked, I would return the other. I suspected the user control board to be the defective part, so I changed it first and that solved my problem. I had to adjust the pin block on the board, but the instructions were easy to follow. Note: you have to unscrew the round air vent on the inside top of the door to be able to split the door in half to access the user control board. 

Swapped the bad one out. New one in and had LED working on new board, once power was back on. 

Status light on main control board was OFF (not flashing). Replaced main control board as advised, installed per video and dishwasher is working perfectly, thank-you! 

Check the door latch sensor with a multimeter. Confirmed that the latch sensor was working properly. Tried to use the status LED on the main board to determine the problem, but LED would never light up. Looked at forum posts from other people with the same problem. They reported that a door sensor issue plus non-working status LED indicated a mainboard failure and replacing the mainboard resolved the problem. I ordered the replacement mainboard and swapped it out. Dishwasher worked immediately. 

I suspected it was the control board so I thought it was worth $75 to give it a try. I've never worked on a dishwasher before. The helpful agent at appliance parts pros sent me written instructions. I also found a You Tube video on how to do it. Took me about 45 minutes and it worked! Saved me an expensive service call and repair. 

Removed and replaced the main control board, so far so good. Dishwasher has started up every time. Keeping my fingers crossed.
