How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3670155 / WR02X10585 Refrigerator Ice Dispenser Door Recess Spring

My side-by-side is 24 years old. The tutorials were awesome! There were slight differences in the unit in the tutorial and my unit. The door stop extends about 3/4 inch from the face of the door but it stops the door! The ice door assembly was slightly different but the tutorial was detailed enough to complete the repair. No more frost in the freezer! The trim panel could not be removed without breaking it. I did read in the comments you can just pop the control panel off. Repair successful. 

I searched GE model dispenser lever parts and selected AppliancePartsPros.com. The parts manual came up with all the different pages I selected the one that had the push bar and found the parts I needed entered them into the cart and purchased parts arrived in no time at all I wasn't even counting and they showed up right parts put them in and it's all fixed. This is the 2nd part I have gotten from you guys I had to replace the auger for the ice maker before. 

Watched the video ( which showed step by step on how to remove old parts and install new parts), and now it’s like new again. . Thanks guys ! Again you have saved me thousands.

Did it myself 

I viewed a couple of videos on how to repair the Ice Door Assembly and decided I'd give it a try. I ordered the parts and accomplished the repair. I was quite proud and happy that I saved money by not needing an expensive service call. 

Using your video guided me through the repair. 

Replaced the Spring, Solenoid and Ice Door Assembly which was compromised. Used a hair dryer to melt the large amount of ice that had built up in the middle of the chute. It appears that the ice buildup had also frozen the water dispenser line. Most of the time was spent defrosting the ice blockage that was hidden from view. Both problems solved with the help of the videos for the door and solenoid, Saved hundreds in repair and much more if I had to replace the refrigerator! 

Googled problem which lead me to take apart ice maker. Solenoid was so rusted it would not move arm to completely close ice chute door. Replaced part along with arm, spring, and dispenser assembly. Clicked on parts needed and watched videos on how to do repairs. It literally took less than 15 minutes to fix! Parts were here in less than a week. So for about $120 for parts, shipping and tax, I saved over $2000 by not having to buy a new fridge as my wife was ready to do! Thanks for having the parts AND the videos, it makes it a snap to do things yourself!
