How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3670155 / WR02X10585 Refrigerator Ice Dispenser Door Recess Spring

Replaced the parts associated with the ice door assembly. 

Ordered parts, came in 2 days. Watched the very clear video, followed the steps, fixed in 25 minutes! Thank you. 

I thought at first I just needed to replace the flapper, but after opening the panel realized it was much more. The salesman was very helpful locating the parts I needed. They arrive quickly and now all 4 pieces are installed. Thanks for all your help. 

Replaced solenoid, ice chute door, hinge and spring. Replacing the completely rusted solenoid and other parts was easy after watching the video several times. As one reviewer had mentioned there was a fair amount of clean up before we could install the new parts. The rusted solenoid was the real culprit but we were glad we purchased the other parts also as they would have to be cleaned of mold. Just wish I had gotten new screws as they were corroded also. Works great now. You can hear the door snap shut a few seconds after dispensing ice. Very pleased with appliancepartpros.com. 

Replaced the interlock door switch, I also replaced handle actuator and spring as well. 

Installed new solenoid, flapper, and spring. Works like new. 

Replaced the solenoid and associated parts. Appliance Parts Pros videos are the best. I've been doing my own appliance repairs for years thanks to APP. I have also spread the word to family and friends. APP makes it so easy! 

We saw that hitting the water line with a heat gun would help melt the ice in the line. Well, that was a bad idea. It melted the paddle on our ice dispenser which eventually broke off. Eventually, I cleared the line with boiling water shot into it, but I had to order replacement parts for the paddle. The parts shipped extremely quickly and the repair itself took less than 10 minutes. The videos and information on this site were so helpful! 

Looked at some You Tube videos. Easy parts to replace, done from outside of Freezer door. About an hours time with common household tools. Not a skill based repair as everything is just screwed on. 

Ordered parts, but when I opened the package containing the solenoid the wires were broken off. Looks like they were hid hard in the package against the edge of the plastic or metal. Called and they wanted a picture, but I don't know how to do that. They hopefully are going to send a replacement. Wife won't be happy, but hopefully it will be here soon. This is 2nd time I've replaced solenoid, it's not a big job. Phillips screwdriver is about all you need, once the panel is loose.
