How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3964635 / WH49X10042 Washer Agitator Coupler Kit

I replaced the agitator coupler with a new kit from Appliance Parts Pros with a 7/16' socket following the simple video instructions on the web site. That is not the fantastic part of the story. The turnaround and delivery on this part was 28 hours which is pretty amazing for our area of Maine. This is ultra important when the washer belongs to your daughter who has 2 young active boys. Well done Appliance Parts Pros! 

I diagnosed the problem, got the model/serial number from back of the washer and then ordered parts from AppliancePartsPros. It was an easy repair taking less than 20 minutes! I repaired our dishwasher last year and AppliancePartsPros had the part for that in stock as well. 

Ordered a new coupler after reading online, but then I discovered that the bad overload/imbalance had shaken the lid sensor completely out of its bracket. I moved the bracket back in place and everything worked. I left the new coupler in there anyway since I had already changed it. 

After taking it apart to try and see if the belt was broken and finding out it was not a belt issue I found out that it was the agitator coupler super easy fix ordered it here it arrived three days later he simply pop off agitator remove a screw and put it on super easy fix and I didn't have to go buy a new washer 

New agitator coupler. After replacing the agitator, it should click and hold into the new coupler. The clips that click into the agitator had been rounded off. A little filing to give them an edge again and I bent them in to grip the coupler better, and it's went through several loads now. At the worst I'll have to buy a new agitator.

Replacement coupler and screw, simply installed and snapped agitator back on, just like in your video! 

Pulled agitator off with all my strength. Used a socket set to unscrew the screw. Pulled old coupler off. Put new coupler on and added rubber washer to screw and screwed it back together. My model of washer should not allow the coupler to spin at all and it was doing that, so I knew the coupler was worn. Thanks for the awesome videos and customer comments!! 

The machine would not agitate and we were considering buying a new one. I first looked online to try and figure out the issue since I am personally not very handy. The only thing that seemed to make sense was the Agitator Coupler. I ordered this part and replaced it. It was super easy and it fixed the machine. I spent $8 instead of a couple of hundred on a new machine. 

Ordered the right parts, at the right price, to do the job. The videos made this job a snap. Looking forward the many more years, of uninterrupted service.
