How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5972814 / 4400EL2001F Dryer Belt

Replaced the motor. Replaced the belt instead of reinstalling the old one. Fairly easy to repair after watching the video. 

Replaced the Dryer Belt. 

I reviewed the AppliancePartsPros.com video about replacing the Heater Assembly in the dryer. This gave me the confidence to do the repair. I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com and four days later the part arrived in great condition. The repair took an hour. It would have been quicker but my dryer had an extra option that required a few more steps than the video. Overall, the experience was exactly what I expected, which is refreshing. After clearing the jam, the roller turned to cause a significant imbalance in the drum as it rolled. The replacement roller from AppliancePartsPros.com worked well. The video made the work easy. One note, the replacement roller used a 6-mm wrench/socket rather than an 8-mm or 10-mm called out in the video. 

Replaced the heating element assembly, included the temperature fuse that was tripped. I ohmed the old elements and found that it was broken. The new assembly fit perfectly, and the hardest part was putting the belt back on (which I replaced while I had it off). Also cleaned everything out, it was pretty dirty in there! 

My talented and hard working husband took it apart and made the repairs himself, with a little help from You Tube! 

Took apart the dryer and replaced the Heater Assembly due to no heat being produced from and setting. Installed a dryer thermistor and a new belt while in there. 

Ordered parts. Belt, idler and replaced the heating element in the 14 year old LG dryer. 

Watched the repair video twice. Replaced all four roller assemblies, drive belt, and idler pulley. The video was very helpful in the repair process. 

Bought a new belt, rollers, and my son and grandson installed the new parts.
