How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4439620 / 5318EL3001A Dryer Igniter

Installed new igniter successfully. After basically taking apart new LG Washtower. Was very careful with this step. I assembled entire gas system, regulator, venturi tube, gas intake and ignitor in one complete assembly. That worked like a charm. 

I attempted to hire a service technician to come out and pay to fix the dryer since I was busy. I soon found out that it's difficult to find an appliance repair service in our area?? Any shops I talked to said it would be weeks before they could come out?? So, I started doing some research and found AppliancePartsPro's videos and parts website. Once I studied their extremely helpful repair tutorials I felt confident I would be able to diagnose and repair the dryer myself. I ordered the parts from ApplaincePartsPros that were the highest failure rates and once they arrived I went through the diagnostic process and found that in fact, the igniter had failed. With this companies help I was able to fix my wife's dryer more quickly and for less cost than hiring someone to complete the repairs. Thank You Appliance Parts Pro's 

The repair went straight forward as I have taken it apart before to change rollers. I purchased what I thought was wrong. I watched videos on the correct continuity for each and that is where the situation changed, as after receiving the parts I checked them to the ones on the dryer and they both no matter which one checked out the same. So it seemed to me I had no bad parts so I changed all, Igniter, thermistor, burner tube thermostat and high limit thermostat. I opted to replace all instead of one by one which would have told me exactly which one was bad. With that all is good as the dryer is working better than before as my Wife say it is drying faster than before, Thanks again. 

After cleaning all of the vent pipes, which are pretty extensive for our dryer, the D80 code continued to occur. After calling Appliance Parts Pros, I spoke with an incredibly knowledgeable technician and he diagnosed the problem as the dryer igniter. I decided to also replace all the thermostats and thermistor while I was at it. All the parts were reasonably priced and arrived in a few days. I'm NOT a handy person when it comes to appliances. I'm a computer programmer, but this was above and beyond my comfort zone. With the help of the amazing videos that go along with these parts, I had the confidence, and information, I needed to take the dryer apart! Being able to accomplish this task, in the midst of this horrible pandemic, was truly a blessing. I want to thank all the Appliance Parts Pros technicians I spoke with that helped answer my questions, many of them rudimentary I'm sure. I would highly recommend this website to anyone who has an appliance project to tackle!!! 

Replace Burner Tube Thermostat, Dryer Ignitor and High Limit Thermostat.

Replaced the dryer igniter following the online video tutorial. Very straight forward and easy to follow. I would recommend! As I was unsure of which part I would need, I bought one of each as it was a rush job. However, if I had taken the dryer ignitor out first I would have seen that part of it was broken/missing. 

Replaced thermistor, high limit thermostat, and thermostat. My dryer is in a very tight, hard to access location, which was part of the reason it took so much time. The videos were lifesavers. My dryer is a Kenmore with a steam attachment, but otherwise the same as the LG in the video. I just had to improvise a bit to get the steam assembly out of the way so I could remove the drum. Unfortunately all the parts I replaced required drum removal. All parts but one came in overnight as promised. The part in the bag labeled High Limit Thermostat was incorrect (it happens), but I called and the correct part was shipped to me overnight. Service was very prompt and courteous. I have used this company twice now and I recommend them. 

I ordered everything that I could replace and do the job one time. I was able to replace everything except the thermostat. The thermostat on my dryer is riveted on and couldn't replace it. However with everything I ordered one of the parts fixed whatever was wrong. It took me about 2 hours total and pretty simple job. I just went a little OCD and cleaned everything up and removed a lot of hair and lint for inside.
