How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4439126 / 6877ER1016B Motor Wiring Harness

New wire harness and the help of the video made it a simple fix..great video. Changed door gasket. Which is helpful with 2 people unless you have that special spring tool. 

I initially replaced the rotator sensor located on the stator assembly. That didn’t fix the problem. So I ordered the stator assembly and the wire harness. After replacing both parts, the washer works great. Not sure if it was the stator or the harness but felt I would leave it as is to prevent any future problems that may occur with old parts. Thanks to appliance part pros for the videos and quick delivery of parts. 

Rotor position sensor is all I used. And after watching the video it only took 45 minutes. 

The first time I had the error the washer was probably 10 years old. The position sensor fixed it that time, but about 2 years later I got the same error. I first replaced the sensor again, but that did not fix the LE error. I then replaced the wiring harness and that the fixed the problem. I don't know if it was a fluke or what, but I checked the continuity of the old harness and I could not find an issue so not sure why the new harness fixed the problem. 

From recommendations found at AppliancePartsPros.com I replaced the stator assembly and motor wiring harness which immediately resolved the issue. This, after two appliance repairmen attempted repairs under my real estate company provided home warranty. Obviously, they were not successful. It took less than 20 minutes (the AppliancePartsPro.com 'How-to' video was spot on and very useful). 

New position sensor switch new motor harness 

There was no troubleshooting involved as most agreed the problem was either the RPS or the wiring harness, the parts were inexpensive so I just replaced both. Very easy fix, maybe 15 minutes to R & R the parts. 

The first thing I tried was replacing the hall sensor on my LG washer. It was a quick and inexpensive repair. This didn't work. I took the washer apart again and noticed a loose wire from the motor wiring harness. I ordered a new wiring harness, replaced it and put it back together. This time it seems to be working. Honestly, I don't know if I may have accidentally broken the wire when replacing the hall sensor but it is possible. It is also possible that the wiring harness was the problem all along. In any case for about $50 (all in) I was able to fix my washing machine. I had one quote to replace the hall sensor alone was going to be $295. For $50 it was worth the effort.
