How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5072170 / 5301EL1001H Heater Assembly

Had to replace the heating assembly. Found a step by step YouTube video of how to do the procedure which helped me a lot.

Found the high heat thermostat was defective.I made the mistake of just replacing it instead of investing in the other parts while I had the dryer apart unit was 12 yrs old. The new high heat thermostat failed in a few days so I did what my gut instinct told me in the 1st place & replaced the heater, thermistor, blower thermostat an while I had it apart also replaced the drum seals & belt. LIKE NEW NOW !

Watched a youtube video and got it done in about an hour. Was being charged $365.00 to fix it. Was cheaper to buy the part from you guys and have it shipped to me next day than it was to buy it here in an appliance store in my home town. 

Researched internet, called AppliancePartsPros.com and discussed issue with 2010 LG dryer,LDE5001w model. Three parts suggested, thermostat, heater assembly and thermistor. Two parts fixed the dryer , heating assembly and thermostat. Watched videos and requested a link to download this model's repair manual from AppliancePartsPros.com. Took about half hour to put parts in, and clean inside, fire hazard inside, full of lint! Works great, like new. Cost 160.00 to do it yourself! Well worth the labor and time. Glad AppliancePartsPros.com is there. You can do it too! 

We were able to but the parts to get it fixed. I ordered the Heater Assembly, and went ahead and replaced the Thermistor Assembly too! I needed the past fast, so I choose the 2 day shipping and got it the following 2 days from the weekend when I ordered it! We watch a few online videos on how to change the parts, and now we have heat! It was was to get the items I needed ordered, and shipped out to me! Thank you, S.Radach
