Salvatore S Rockaway , NJ June 01, 2015 Appliance: LG Refrigerator LFC25760ST Ice maker tray was pitted and metals marticles were present in the ice I watched the video first. My freezer is a lower draw freezer and I needed to remove the upper draw before I had access to the ice maker. Only 2 screws required loosening and one screw removed along with disconnect of an electrical plug for the ice maker. Still needed to work in an awkward position to reach the screws of the ice maker. Didn't realize that the bail was different on the new ice maker until I put the drawer back in and it did not close properly. Needed to pull the bail off the old unit and replace it with the bail on the new unit. After that, all worked well. Takes a few hours for the ice tray to cool and make ice. Ken B Duluth , GA January 12, 2016 Appliance: Model LCF21770ST Ice maker water flooded the freezer then the floor running unimpeded Replaced the Ice Maker. At first I thought the issue was the water input solenoid valve. But eventually determined the ice maker sends power signal to the input solenoid valve, so replacing the bad ice maker was the cause. I learned appliances can be very modular and so you don't have to be an expert to swap out a bad part. In my case it was 3 simple screws and a electrical plug to fix. Good advice and online videos to help. And saved some money! Other good advice is to buy some cheap floor water sensors, to avoid major water damage. David M Panama City , FL June 02, 2014 Ice maker Replaced ice maker assembly which in its self is easy. The difficult part was my wife's bottom draw freezer. You gotta get down and ugly on the floor. Tips: 1. Don't let your wife buy a bottom draw freezer. 2. Replace the three Philips screws with 1/4 inch drive nut driver screws. Helps for blind screwing. Neal W Wildwood , MO April 14, 2019 Appliance: LG Refrigerator LFC22740ST Ice maker stopped making ice. Couldn't have been easier. Got my model number from fridge. Ordered the part. And with the help of repair video and other customers comments I went to work on the installation. The video was the key as there was a hidden screw. That would have been a real headache as getting your head in the freezer to look at what you're dealing with is difficult. I kick myself for paying big bucks for a repairman last time I needed this done. William E Greenfield , IN June 19, 2014 Appliance: Model LG MODEL LRSC 26930TT Original icemaker broke and was not repairable Replaced the icemaker tray and electronics assembly. AppliancePartsPros replacement was exactly the part needed. Part was quite difficult to remove. After frustrating all my attempts to remove, I realized the icemaker motor assembly below the icemaker assembly had to be removed first, rotated 180 deg to expose a blind screw holding the two assemblies together. Then more manipulating to expose a screw securing the icemaker electric harness. Once done, the replacement went smoothly. Rene M San Antonio , TX January 27, 2017 Ice maker needed replacement Found this company online and had the part I needed. Part came in two business days. Removed previous unit (remove top freezer sliding shelf, loosen top two screws with grommet, remove bottom screw completely). Replaced with new unit. Had to change out auto-off arms since one that came with new unit was a bit too big. All in all, easy replacement. Roger G Chester , VA October 01, 2016 Water did not cut off when filling the ice maker on my refrigerator and the ice tray almost over flowed which may have distroyed the refrigerator if i had'nt caught it in time and turned it off I replaced the ice maker and fixed the problem but this is the second time this has happened. I think the refrigerator should be designed so the ice tray does not overflow with water, if it malfunctions. Michael R Concord , CA August 23, 2016 Appliance: Model 5989JA0002N Ice maker went out my kitchen was floodedi I'm now on my 3rd icemaker in this 7 yr. old LG refri. The original ice maker stopped making ice. The 2nd most recent allowed water to flow endlessly, flooding the kitchen. With help from the Q and A posted with AppliancePartsPros, I realize the best option is to replace the entire little unit-- it is Custom Cube [made in Korea]. It is easy to change out the icemaker, but it is necessary to remove everything from the freezer [this is a bottom-drawer type freezer] and you have to remove the drawer front entirely [the frig. owner's manual was very much helpful]. A pain, yes, but not terrible difficult. My new icemaker arrived with a broken plastic hanger piece that also cradles a bundle of wires & the little heater. I was able to take parts from the old non-functioning unit. Not included with the new icemaker was a half-funnel shape plastic 'cup' that attach on the water- rec'vg. end of the unit. You better save the old unit & all the screws that hold it in place. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Screwdrivers

Raymond P Newport , NC February 15, 2022 Icemaker Actually, after I cleaned from around the valve, it started working just fine. I have decided to keep the new ice maker and water valve so if I do have a problem in the future, I will already have the parts.
