How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP7220429 / 4581EL2002L Roller Kit

One of the support rollers had totally disintegrated. Since we had to disassemble the dryer, we chose to replace all rollers and the belt. Once that was complete, it runs great! Our dryer was a little different in details to the videos on AppliancePartPros.com, but using the website helped diagnose the problem and the video made a huge positive difference it getting it fixed the first time. It took right at 2 hours start to finish. We saved several hundred dollars compared to calling in a service technician. 

Watched video on replacing drum rollers. It was a little more involved than I thought, but after 3 hours I replaced 2 drum rollers. The bearing was worn out of 1 roller, and the rubber wheel was worn badly on the other. After just a few days the dryer is still working great and very quite. 

Watched You Tube repair video to determine cause of sound. Determined it was not a difficult repair and that I could do myself with my tools on hand. Replaced front support rollers and cleaned the interior of my LG dryer. While systems were open, I also cleaned the lint ducts. 

Replaced all 4 support rollers and the drive belt since I was already in there. Rollers are easily replaced (vs. roller "assembly") by removing them from the shaft and replacing. Replacing the shafts is a waste of time, money & resources. Plastic (roller) retainer clips remove & reinstall easily. Video is spot on as far as procedure goes. Wiring harness removal was probably the most difficult due to locking plugs. A couple were difficult to release, but managed to disconnect 

I googled our situation and determined we needed new drum rollers. As a former Appliancepartspro customer, I knew just where to go to get parts fast and at a decent price. What I didn’t realize was that there would be this great video demo that showed me how to change out the drum rollers, step by step. The project took about an hour to do, and now the dryer is like brand new - 

I ordered 1 drum support roller. Installed it on Christmas Day. Did some wash and used the dryer. Run quietly for a little bit and started making the weird sound again. So my wife stops using it. Since the dryer has 4 drum rollers, I decided to order 3 more to make sure the dryer drum is balance having all the roller brand new. Thanks to your video, the repair was not all that difficult. Had this not occurred on the day before Thanksgiving, it would have been completed the next day. Fortunately, the parts arrived the following day and we were back to normal catching up on all the accumulated laundry. Thanks for great service! 

Ordered 4 new rollers, new belt and belt tensioner. Watched how to change rollers on You Tube. Since I had it all apart I installed all the new parts. Took about two hours. It is now working fine.
