How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP7220429 / 4581EL2002L Roller Kit

The actual fix was fairly easy, I replaced the roller and put a drum belt on while I was at it. Some surprising things... didn't realize how much actually makes it outside of the drum. The upside is I now have 200 dollars in dimes and enough of my kid's hair to make a sweater. 

I did a little research on line.. found your website and noticed that it included a video of the repair I needed to do.. I watched it and found it to be very helpful... 

Replaced 4 rollers to guide drum as it turned. 

About 1.5hr finist..... 

Replaced all four wheels, the dryer went from so noisy you had to leave the room, to where you could sew in the same room. 

We replaced all four of the drum support roller assemblies. The video was a great help even though there were some minor differences between our Kenmore and the LG used in the video with regards to extra features the Kenmore has that caused minor complications in disassembly/reassembly. The roller assemblies and drive belt were the same. The nuts on the old roller assemblies were a little more difficult to turn out than they appeared in the demo and there was a good deal of lint that had to be cleaned out, but that does not take away from the quality of the video. The room our dryer is in is also somewhat restrictive, which also increased the time it took for repairs. The buyer should be aware that the price for the roller assembly is just for one roller and we bought four as recommended. One old wheel had a bad flat spot. A couple of the others had rubber shaved off the sides. We also really did not need a new belt, but we installed it anyway and are keeping the old belt for a spare. The dryer operates very smoothly now. Without the excellent video, we might have called a repair service and spent a lot more than we did. 

Rollers and a new belt for good measure. I would also recommend drum end felts, and idler pulley for anyone doing this project. 

Replace drum. 

Replaced front bulkhead, drum front seal and rollers. Went easier than expected; 

After researching the internet for potential reasons for the dryer problem, I determined that the drum support rollers were most likely the culprit. I then found an online video that showed how to dissemble the dryer in order to access the parts that needed replaced. After disassembly, I discovered that the dryer belt was also frayed. At this point I ordered two support roller assemblies and a dryer belt from Appliance Parts Pro. They arrived the very next day. I installed the new parts and reassembled the dryer. It now runs smoothly and as quiet as the day I bought it 9 years ago.
