How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4438254 / 4413ER1003A Rotor Assembly

Amazing service form appliance parts pros! No one in my area would work on my LG front load washer. Watched APP's online youtube video and felt more confident about taking the washer apart. Opened up the washer, found the broken part, ordered from APP (arrived the next day) and my washer was running again about 36 hours after I watched their video. Amazing! 

Replaced with new metal toothed spline. Quick repair job once identified. 

Pulled the back cover off removed the center bolt in the rotor. Pulled the rotor off and replaced it with the new rotor. reinstalled the center blot and screwed the back cover on. 

1st. I googled the problem. 2nd. Unplug the machine. Remove the back cover. Remove the rotor. Ordered a new rotor that matched the machine model. Replaced the part. No spec was given to tighten the bolt. The bolt came lose new rotor came off broke a magnet. Ordered another part. Tightened the bolt tighter smacked the wrench with a hammer. Hope it's tight enough to not come lose. So far it works fine.

We removed the back panel, took out the old rotor, and put the new Rotor Assembly in. It took longer to move the washer to access the back than to replace the part. 

Ordered and replaced Rotor Assembly. 

Rotor assembly hub splines were bad (plastic!) Replaced w/ new assembly hub splines are metal. The part was ordered, 2 days later arrived in good shape. Easy peasy.
