How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4438254 / 4413ER1003A Rotor Assembly

Replace stator and rotor, everything went well, no more error code. 

I purchase the part and fixed it myself in about 20min total 

Replaced rotor assembly. 

Whirring sounds intermittently during wash cycle and almost always during the spin. Replaced the rotor first as its probably the easiest component to access and swap, on the appliance. Turns out, this time, its the STATOR which is much pricier than this, but still much cheaper than a new machine. The APP tutorials show you everything you need in a step by step manner. If you've ever changed a tire (on any vehicle) you can swap this part. 

Researched on the internet. Watched multiple repair Youtube videos. Found and suspected rotor assembly center spline was at fault. Ordered and obtained through AppliancePartsPros with excellent pricing and fast delivery. 

Replaced the rotor assembly. 

This is literally a 10 min job. 4 screws and one nut. What happens with ours was that the permanent magnets had diminished over time and were no longer effective. The spline shaft was fine in the old part. Repeat it was the magnets that were keeping the drum from moving. This part acts as a rotor, like on an electric motor. Basically, the drum is the electric motor. This information is for those who don’t know a thing about electronics. I hope this info helps someone. 

After watching some of appliance parts pros videos I ordered the rotor and stator and had it fixed within 30 min. Very fast shipping. This is the third time I bought parts from these guys and happy every time. 

Looked on Google to troubleshoot. Found the problem. Ordered the part, installed it and it works great. Pretty easy fix. 

Changed rotor. Replacement rotor has metal insert on rotor to help reduce stripping of rotor! Check rotor for stripping before ordering and replacing stator position sensor!
