How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4438254 / 4413ER1003A Rotor Assembly

I replaced the recommended part from appliance parts pros and repaired the machine start to finish including moving it in and out of it’s space in about 30 minutes. The washer is a front load LG approx ten yrs old. 

I watched a tutorial and fixed it with so much ease and I’m not a handyman at all. Saved me from buying a new washer. 

A new rotor assembly was super easy to install, literally a 5-minute job. Fixed the problem perfectly, 

Motor rotor needed replacement as the part that connects to the shaft was worn out due to wear from 9 years of use. It only took about 10 minutes to repair. Removed rear panel 4 (screws). Removed motor rotor and installed a new one(17mm socket). I also benefited from a video tutorial from YouTube to diagnose the problem. 

My daughter and her boyfriend were going to throw out her 7 year old $1000 washing machine and buy a new one because the tub would not spin, thinking it would be too expensive to fix. I took a look at it and determined that the gear had worn on the rotor of the direct drive motor. I replaced the rotor and it is now working again. Total time invested in the repair was 20 minutes total cost $130.00

Replaced shocks. Easy fix. After I restarted machine still heard screechy noise, drum not spinning. Took it apart again, and found rotor was stripped. Ordered part and easy 5 min install, all is well. Verified part through customer service live. Got it a few days later. Back doing laundry. Yay! Thanks for all support. Parts are quality, affordable. 

Replaced the rotor as the splines were stripped out. Very easy fix and had the parts in less than 24 hours! Fantastic customer service! 

Determined that the motor rotor spline had sheared. Ordered a new rotor. It was shipped almost immediately after I placed the order and the part arrived a day later. The video on this web site made changing the rotor a 10 minute job.
