How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4650823 / 6600W1K001C Switch

Replaced the bottom door switch. There is a good YouTube video on how to safely work in the microwave because you have to discharge the magnetron. This Kenmore is an LG branded one. I ordered both door switches listed for my model, but I only needed 3B73362F (AP4437957). This one is apparently the most likely to fail. 

AppliancePartsPros.com provided possible causes and possible fixes. Took the recommendation of replacing the door micro switches and delay fuse. I replaced the 3 items and voila it works. Did not even check the old switches with a meter, I just replaced them. The cost was worth it as I was prepared to go further to repair it anyway. And don't forget to discharge the capacitor. 

Lower switch cooked to a crisp and also melted the holder. The holder with switches installed is the best deal. 

Replaced microwave door interlock switch. 

Replaced the holder assembly with 3 switches assembly. I am a retired GE appliance dealer. 

Take the top vent off by two screws & then one screw on the side & lifted her up and I could see the 3 switches I need to repair. Then unscrewed the housin to the 3 switches. Took the housin out , put the 3 switches in the new housing & put her in & plug them in . And plug the Nucor and she works like new. Highly recommended to deal with these people good people for the do-it-yourselfer. 

I took the cover off. Then removed the door latch assembly from the microwave. I replaced the three switches and reassembled the microwave. the hardest part was getting the switches out of the latch assembly with out breaking the tabs that hold the switches in place. It is easy to break them off TYhey are hard plastic with very little give. 

Ordered a direct replacement and just plugged it in. 

Bought new micro switch from ApliancePartsPros.com. Ordered one day and got it next. That is a record. I think the guy carried the switch to carrier and told them to carry it to me special. It was not next day either it was regular mail. I repaired the microwave the same day. Thanks for prompt service. 

Viewing U-tube videos, I determined that my problem was the same as many others'. I searched for the micro switch using the model number of the microwave and found two possible switches that it may be. I ordered both of them since they were less than $3 each and they were delivered the NEXT DAY! I opened the case using a security torx screwdriver, found the switch that was stuck in the closed position, removed it, replaced it and reassembled the microwave. Start to finish repair in 20 minutes. It works great!
