How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5964753 / DA82-01396A Refrigerator Tray Ice Assembly

I bought a new Ice Tray Asy. 

I needed a replacement ice bucket for my Samsung refrigerator. I was having a problem finding the matching part number, so I reached out to customer service. The person I spoke with was very friendly and was able to assist me in finding the right part. She was also patient because even she was having some difficulty finding it, but she had a great team on her end to assist her. 

Replaced the ice bin assembly. 

Replaced broken part with new one, perfect fit and super fast service from appliancepartspros.com. 

Replace ice tray. 

Replaced it. 

Ordered kit and installed it myself and it worked. 

I checked several online sources for an OEM ice bucket because ours was cracked and needed to be replaced. I started with AppliancePartsPros, whom I have ordered from several times before with excellent results. I also checked some other sites Google shopping, etc..., and no other site had the correct ice bucket. A few sites had the same part number and a lower price posted, but the picture was definitely wrong. I ordered from AppliancePartsPros, the ice bucket arrived and it was similar but different from our broken ice bucket. It included a separate part which was the latch mechanism to hold it in place. I reviewed the situation and BOOM it hit me. Samsung had revised the ice tray system and Appliance Parts Pros not only provided the right part, but also the most current version. The ice bucket installation took less than five minutes to switch the latch mechanism and because it is an OEM part (not just OEM authorized", it fits perfectly. Thanks, AppliancePartsPros! Replaced the power cord. Removed the service panel, unclipped the old power cord and removed the ground screw and washer. Then put the new cord's screw-on, clipped the cord in, and put the panel back on. It took less than four minutes and my 6-year-old helped. Still waiting on the backordered ice tray; mine is cracked. It'll be a little more involved but still looks like an easy enough replacement. 

Replced the part. It fit great and all is working well.
