How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5800460 / DD82-01118A Dishwasher Control Sensor Assembly

Replaced the sensor. Same problem 4 times in two years. 

Replaced the "A/s Assy-Sensor ECS:DW80" Very easy to install. Remove dishwasher from cabinet, tip on its back, remove two screws from plastic cover/shield to access the sensor. Unplug the old sensor, turn it 1/4 turn counter clockwise to remove. Be sure to take Oring from old sensor and place on new sensor. Place new sensor in and turn clockwise 1/4 turn, plug it in, and replace cabinet. This solved my issue. Easy fix. Thanks ApplianceParts Pros for the fast shipping.

For Samsung Dishwasher DW80F800 Replaced Sensor; AP5800460 (DD82-01118A) Replaced BRAKE; AP5789093 (DD82-01111A) 

Called Samsung, they were no help. I was told to call a service comp. There is only one and they wanted $150 just to look at it. I checked and there reviews were all bad Searched Youtube for help. End up replacing three parts before finding the problem. The part that was bad was the water temp. sensor $35.00. That was alot cheaper then the other two parts I purchased. 

I have gotten the dreaded high heat two leds flashing error on a Samsung dishwasher that is about 18 months old. The manufacturer suggested replacing the ECS sensor, the PCB and another part but instead of going with a very expensive repair by the local service tech, I decided to try the fix by myself since I am handy with electronics and have electrical experience. The repair is pretty simple and straight forward: 1. Turn off power to the dishwasher from the main circuit breaker; 2. open the door and remove the two screws on the side holding the dishwasher in place (might have two gray caps); 3. pull the dishwasher out and flip it to the side. 4. remove the round plastic (black) cover from the bottom of the dishwasher (2 screws); 5. locate the sensor and unplug. Twist to remove. Make sure to save the o ring since the new sensor does not come with one. 6. Insert o ring on the new sensor, twist it in place and attached the connector; 7. assemble the back of the dishwasher, flip back and push in the slot then screw in the positioning screws and cover them with the caps; 8. turn power back on; Voila! I hope this helps. It should be a 45 minutes job. 

I researched the code on line and figured out what was wrong. We ordered the part on this site for half the price of buying it locally and received it 5 days faster! We found a tutorial video on replacement and repaired it in about 15 min! Spent $34 dollars instead of replacing or paying a couple hundred to a repair company! Will definitely use this company again! 

First off.. the part came in less than 2 days! Fantastic shipping policies! Changed the ECS switch out, from the bottom of the unit. Had to disconnect the water, power and pull the entire unit out to access the bottom panel, but otherwise not too difficult. Whole project took about an hour and just needed a couple screwdrivers and a wrench (for the drain line). Found great youtube video (sorry lost the link) on how to disassemble this dishwasher model, so that really helped know where all the screws were located. 

Used instructions posted earlier for installation by Patrick H. and Roger A. which worked perfectly - so thanks for that guys!! Only tip that i can add is before you push the DW back in, ensure that the water/disposal/electric cables are pulled out as much as necessary (maybe even reconnect the disposal hose) before you push the DW back in. Also, as pointed out by others, make sure to use the old seal 'cos a new one is not included. After fixing yesterday - the DW works fine - lets hope it lasts!!
