Questions & Answers

For Samsung Dishwasher Control Sensor Assembly (Part Number: OEM17401389)

1 Answer

John, at connection CN102 of the main control, pin 1 can be tested for 5VDC (with the red probe of a meter) to pin 6 (with the black probe). If there is 5VDC, then next step would be to identify if the main control is receiving a wake-up signal using the red probe at pin 5 when pressing the power on button. If the main control receives that signal, it should then send a 12VDC supply to the user panel at pin 2 (red probe used at this pin). If the voltages at the main control are there, the user panel control DD92-00037B has failed (or if a signal voltage is not sent to the main control). If there is not a correct voltage coming from the main control, the main control would need to be replaced.

I get the same exact problem. The replacement came with three wires and now I get a water drain problem, the same as described here. My dishwasher started giving me the "smart auto" and "normal" blinking error. When looking into what the issue was I came across switching the ECS sensor (DD82-01118A). Upon receiving the parts I noticed the number of wires were not the same as the picture or the original ECS sensor on my dishwasher. The original part on my dishwasher has 4 wires (red, black, blue and white). The new part only has 3 (red, black and blue). I tried contacting Samsung directly and they said this is the correct part, but when I install it I get a new error code. With the new (3 wire ECS) the dishwasher will run for ~10 minutes until it gets to the drain cycle. It will drain 2-3 times then stop. I then get "Delicate" flash indicating a drain error. The unit drains fine though. There is no water left inside and it pumps fine. Am I missing something or is there another error I should be looking into? RLH, the lower sensor and upper sensor both should read 10 kOhms. You may want to check the wiring to make sure that it is secured properly. Aside from that, the manufacturer recommendation for that error code is to replace the sensor assembly.

Carl, You will want to check to see if it is draining and if it is not then check to make sure that the motor is getting 120 vac to it and if there is 120 vac to it then the issue will be a faulty drain pump. Also check to make sure that the float switch is resetting.

Bryan, With the valve having been replaced the most likely cause for this issue will be a faulty main control board.

Bryan, With this issue this would be a water level error and will want to check the flow meter and if this checks ok then the issue will be a faulty main control board since the valve has been replaced.

Ricardo, The smart auto and heavy lights flashing would mean an over level water error. You will want to check the flow meter, the water valve and if these check ok then the main board would be the issue.

Ron N for Model Number Samsung DW80F600UTS/AA

Hello. The issue I am having with my dishwasher is that during any wash cycle it stays on the first wash cycle. I have let it run for 3 hours and it never finishes. The outer temperature of the dishwasher is pretty hot and I am guessing it is because it has had hot water spraying in it for hours. I am not getting any fault codes or flashing indicators. It had the Main PCB and A/S ASSY-SENSOR ECS DW80 replaced about 2 years ago. (The machine was only 3 months old.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1 Answer

Ron, With the unit not leaving the first wash cycle then this would be the most likely caused by a faulty main control board not allowing the unit to advance.
