How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5322472 / DE94-02001C Microwave Control Panel Assembly

Ordered a new Assembly Control Panel containing a new touchpad, attached the old circuit board to it, reconnected everything and the microwave was working again! 

I pulled control panel apart and cleaned contacts as suggested. So far it is working fine. I still ordered replacement assy just in case. 

I found the information on line to access and remove the control pad. Then I removed the control board from the pad assembly, removed the ribbon, and put the control board on the new control pad assembly, and reinstalled. Worked fine. 

I replaced the control panel assembly 

We purchased an assembly control panel for our Samsung 9187ST OTR Microwave and it took my husband about 1/2 hour to remove the old panel and replace it with a new one. After replacing we went out for the afternoon and when we came home there was NO BEEPING from the microwave!!! Success!!!! 

Removed panel. Took a photo of the connections before disconnecting. Used the photo to ensure correct reconnections since there were no instructions included with the replacement panel. 

Followed utube videos ordered parts of possibilities. I replaced control panel with old motherboard is working fine so I probably can return circuit board. Appliancepartspros are a god sent with great deal on parts & returns 

Ordered the Assy Control Panel and fixed it myself. Only took about 15 minutes. 

I had taken the control panel off several times and cleaned the ribbon connection and it would work for a few weeks, but this was no longer working. I replaced the touch pad and it is working fine now. Getting the metal piece out of the old panel was a little tough and it got a little bent, but I bent it back and it worked fine. I was afraid that I really needed the electronics replaced, but just changing the keypad did the trick. 

After fixing the problem numerous times, by cleaning the ribbon cable, the microwave finally would not function. Rather than mess around w/ placing paper between the two cables, I decided to order the control panel. Since I had taken the entire panel off for cleaning a few times before, that was easy. The hardest part was taking the motherboard apart from the front keypad. This was accomplished by watching a Youtube vid and just using caution and common sense to separate the parts. Taking the metal backing piece off was a bit difficult, but by pushing the tabs in and gently pulling, it came apart. Put it back together, and PRESTO, problem solved. This was the way to go, as buying the ENTIRE control panel (unnessesary) would have cost anywhere from $106-136. Simple fix. $51.06/ 20 minutes. Delivery was fast and on time.
