How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5966911 / DC97-05280W Washer Damper Assembly

I originally called samsung as my machine was still in warranty and this was after already having it serviced for the recall which really did nothing except strengthen a few supports. They tried to get a service tech to come out and replace the damper rods but surprisingly there were no tech services available for my area which is Pittsburgh. So not a small city. Even tech support was surprised there was no tech's available. Even when calling the tech's they said they were so overbooked with samsung orders they had to stop taking additional service calls. Eventually Samsung is sending me a refund check which they said Home Depot will just trash the washer I have now. Well here I am to fix it myself. I ordered the 4 damper rods and it took about 15 minutes to install. I have had zero issues with the washing machine going out of balance with code UE. Funny thing is it seems the clothes are dryer coming out of the washing machine to go into the dryer as the spin cycle seems to function better. Just make sure to get some white lithium grease! Googled the issue and found various fixes available. The damper assembly looked easy enough to do so I ordered all 4. The order arrived in 2 days. Purchased the tube of lithium grease at my local hardware store. The entire repair took 35 minutes. I am happy to say that after 6 loads of laundry(including towels and bathmats) its running like a champ. My only advice is to wear gloves as it is a messy job. 

Purchased 4 rods and replaced them in about 20 minutes with the help of my 9 year old. The instruction video was extremely helpful. 

I found that there is a service bulletin for this known problem, the old support rods had springs that were too weak. Replaced the four rods with the new design, a 10 minute task, and saved a $200 service call. 

I ordered the OEM parts and replaced them myself. Appliance Parts Pro were affordable, and fast shipping, very surprised, thank you.

Replaced all 4 damper rods that are on tub. Was very easy to do and fixed the problem.
