The Washer Damper Assembly is an OEM replacement part for Samsung washing machines. This component is crucial for reducing vibrations and absorbing shock during wash and spin cycles, ensuring the washer operates smoothly and quietly. By stabilizing the drum, it helps prevent excessive movement that could damage other parts of the washer.

Causes of a bad damper assembly include wear from heavy or unbalanced loads, prolonged use, or damage due to impact. Over time, the dampers may lose their effectiveness, leading to increased vibrations and noise.

Symptoms of a bad washer damper assembly include:

  • Excessive shaking or vibrating during operation
  • Loud banging or thumping noises
  • Washer moving or "walking" across the floor
  • Uneven or incomplete spin cycles

This OEM Samsung part is also compatible with select Kenmore and other washer models.

Todd for Model Number WTW4800BQ0

Hi - I am trying to determine if my washing machine issue is due to a problem with the washer or plumbing at the home I am renting. It is a Whirlpool WTW4800BQ0 that stops during or after the wash cycle of large and extra large loads. The kitchen sink (12 or so feet away) backs up with water during these larger loads (at the end of the ash cycle I believe). There is an anti-flood valve on the drain pipe (Jirasek GVII). The homeowner installed this to stop water from backing up into the washer. There is likely root growth around the plumbing impeding drainage. The washer has displayed the F8E1 error code (no fill, long fill). I completed the automatic and manual test modes for the valves and drain pump and both appear to function properly. I have cleaned the hose screens. Could the anti-flood valve cause this error, or could plumbing contribute to the issue? Thank you.

Todd, Thanks for the question!!! If you have a revision number it would be located on the line with the model number. Usually, there is the model number then some space and then the revision number. Any model void of a revision number would be considered a 00.

Tim, the manufacturer has both dampers being listed for this model dependent on the series. Series 3 and up will use the damper DC97-05280W while series 0 through 2 will use the damper DC97-16350C.
