How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5669739 / DC97-16350E Washer Suspension Rod

Replaced the suspension rods - works like a dream. 

After receiving the four support rods, it didn't take more than ten minutes to replace then. I used a phillips head screwdriver to remove the three screws in back of the washer and a putty knife in front to loosen the two catches. The person who took my order was very helpful in ordering the correct support rods. Thank you. You saved me a service call. 

I changed out all 4 suspension support rods. 

I ordered the parts after reading about the problem and watching the video on how to replace rods with the springs. It was a very easy fix once you took the top off of the washing machine. I just needed someone to hold the top of the washing machine up while I replaced the parts. I would use this company in the future for repairs that I could fix myself. Their tutorials and videos are great. 

Watched the AppliancePartsPro video,.. ordered the four tub support rod replacements from you for $120.00. The video said it would take about 20 minutes but it took me forty minutes but that was because I am old school,... ok, ok, I am just old. Vital to the repair that was not mentioned was to do the leveling and re-calibration procedures described in the washer user manual. Have done three wash loads since and so far so good. The repair was expensive but at least it was less than buying a new machine,... if we had called a repair man the cost would have been the same as purchasing a new low cost washer. Glad we fixed it. 

Replaced all 4 hangers. That fixed the problem. 

Ordered the parts and replaced them works great now except my husband lost the clips for the washer lid 

The actual repair was quite simple, maybe 15 minutes in all. Get the top off, lift drum a bit, remove each corner rod and replace. I'm surprised Samsung doesn't cover these in recall as they are known to fail early. Machine runs perfectly ever since 

Installed the four new suspension support rods and it worked installed. It was beyond simple. The YouTube videos I found online showed exactly what I needed to do, and how simple it was. 

Watched a repair video on how to get the lid off. Once the lid was off, it was a matter of one person holding up the lid while the other gently lifted the tub, slipped off the bad shock (total of 4 to replace) and replaced with new ones. Literally a screwdriver was all that was needed. No one around me will work on Samsung, so I had to repair myself. An estimate to just evaluate it was over $200. Parts to my house was only $80. Win!
