How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5669739 / DC97-16350E Washer Suspension Rod

Four new suspension rods and a little lubricant and she purrs like a kitten. 

Watched the video on your site, ordered the parts for about $64 and installed four of these in 20 minutes. Repair guy wanted $390 for the job. No more off balance!!! THANKS!!! 

The shaking began after the washer was a little over two years old and seemed to occur on high spin speeds, so I used medium. After a couple of months, the washer would shake violently no mater what spin speed was used and result in the dc unbalance code. An appliance repairman told me replacing the damper rod assemblies has fixed this problem every time and would cost me $250 for him to replace. Even though these dampers looked good, I followed his advice and replaced all four Damper rod and spring assemblies myself for less than $60 with parts from Appliance Parts Pros. He was right and my problem has been resolved. 

Replaced the 4 dampers on the tub assembly. Had called SAMSUNG with no support or help offered.I then researched this problem and tried several fixes including re-leveling and increasing the size of the vibration pads mounted on the inside of the unit. Checked the damper rods and to the eye they appeared to be serviceable. However, based on some comments posted by various other people having the same condition, I decided rather than pay a service call and repair (quoted as upwards of $ 300) I would replace the dampers. This was a quick repair (15 minutes), with a cost of $ 60. All works well and the wife is happy again. As for SAMSUNG, my next appliance/product WILL NOT have the SAMSUNG name. Worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. 

After reading the many comments on this side and others, we decided to replace the rods in the washer. I dreaded spending the money (and my husband was not convinced this was our issue), but our washer was only 2 years old. We received the parts in 2 days as promised (I paid extra for expedited shipping), he watched the video, installed the parts in less than 10 minutes. It absolutely worked! I did 4 loads of laundry (2 small ones to test, then 2 large ones to test) and it was back to normal. Appreciate the help, the quick how to video (not a long drawn out one as I found on utube) and the parts! I have book marked this site for future parts (although I hope I don't need). 

I replaced the four suspension rods and watched a youtube video on how to do it. No issues at all! I have done heavy towels on high spin and no problem! All fixed for under $55. The actual repair took less than 15 minutes. 

Replaced 4 struts. Unplug power. Disconnect water lines. 2 screws upper rear and used scraper blade to release top assembly via slot about 6.5" in from edge on front of unit. Problem immediately fixed. Thank You! 

I call an appliance repair company who suggested I buy a new washer. After checking for my problem and reviewing comments online, I repeatedly found the suggested repair was to replace the suspension support rods. I checked them on my washer; but, they seemed OK. However, everything else was working so I took a chance. (cheaper than a new washer) Once the new rods were installed, even before I ran a load of wash, the difference in how the tub lined up and set was apparent. I ran a load of towels and jeans and had no problem. I would have never have suspected replacing the suspension support rods would have made that much difference. The washer runs like new. 

After spending about an hour reading Samsung forums and seeing useless "fix's", I came across a Appliance Parts Property on youtube. Watched the video which was very detailed making it seem like an easy fix. Bought the recommended parts. The parts were shipped to my home within two days, and about 20 minutes later my washer was fixed properly with quality parts. If I ever need appliances parts again, I know where I'll be shopping. 

Ordered the four suspension rods or dampeners as they're also called...followed how the do-it-yourself you tube video. Easiest fix in 15 minutes and works perfectly. Anyone somewhat handy can do this!
