How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5651749 / DA97-07365G Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly

I order Part #: DA97-07365G (AP5651749) Quantity: 1 for RF4289HARS/XAA I save an enormous amount for labor and service call charge by doing the project myself and it took all of about seven minutes and it was done. I did watch a YouTube video first and then installed it. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver and that's it. I took a chance on AppliancePartsPros.com and service was outstanding.

Replaced the ice maker unit 

Ordered part DA97-0765G. Watched youtube video from appliance parts. Received part. Turned off power to refrigerator. Removed ice maker and replaced with new one in less than ten minutes. Easy process. Hard part was waiting to see if ice maker was the issue and nothing more like a water valve. In our case it was the ice maker and we now have ice. I am over 60 yrs old and a woman who has a desk job, this task initially seemed daunting but was a plug n play process just needing patience on outcome. Probably would have cost me twice as much or more to have someone come out to do this for me. 

Called sears for repair. Diagnosed that the ice maker was not allowing water to enter in when the cycle was complete. I saw that it was a simple fix, and saved about $300 by doing it myself. Ordered a new ice maker. Thawed out the refrigerator and ice maker. Took about an hour to thaw the ice maker and remove the tray. Once it was out I removed all the frozen ice. The ice maker takes about 5 minutes to replace. Its been two days and the ice maker has been working perfectly.
