How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP6329377 / DA97-18859A Ice Maker Assembly (Module)

Spent about 10 minutes thawing the ice maker with a hair dryer. After that removing unit and replacement were a breeze. Finished in less than 1 hour. 1 1/2 hours later it dumped its first load of ice. Hasn't worked that well in a long time. 

I ordered a new ice maker, removed the old one, two screws and it came out. I'm not a mechanic, but I play one at times. 

Step one: Order new Ice Make Assembly Step Two: Manually defrost Ice Maker (Check operators manual) Step Three: Unplug Refrigerator Step Four: Remove power cable access cover and unplug power connecter Step Five: Remove front screw on Ice maker, bottom flap of ice maker should angle downward. Step Six: Top of Ice Maker has a plastic flap/lock, push flap/lock downward and pull Ice Maker forward. Step Seven: Reverse procedure for install 

Tried thawing with hairdryer but could not get it to work consistently. Ordered the wrong part, then contacted AppliancePartsPros via Chat service. Chatted with Kelsey who was extremely helpful, sent me the correct part, and sent the form to return the wrong part. Kelsey was GREAT! Installed the new ice maker with the help of a Youtube video and now I'm enjoying ice without having to dig it out of a bag. 

Replaced the ice maker and reduced incoming pressure. 

Ordered a new ice maker from AppliancePartsPros.com and installed it. I powered cycled the the refrigerator and within 4 hours ice was made. Thank you. Also a side note, I did this same operation exactly 1 year ago. Seems like this device is designed to fail. Not the fault of Appliance Parts Pros. 

Called for the part. Kylie found the correct item, shipped it and I installed it 

Replaced. 

Replaced with new ice maker. Easy replacement.
