How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4448985 / DA97-07150A Refrigerator Water Tank Assembly

Tried replacing the water valve with no luck. Then I remembered that no water came out of the line from the water tank when I changed the water valve. So I pulled out the water tank and found it had frozen solid and ruptured the line between the two tanks. I replaced the heater element and the tank assembly and it all works perfectly now. 

Replaced water reservoir and water valve assembly. This corrected both problems. Before attempting this repair I used the Appliance Parts Forum for info on how to make these repairs. I had no idea where the valve and reservoir were located before I started. It became a very easy repair thanks to AppliancePartsPro.com. 

Replaced the cold water tank assembly. 

I watched the video that Appliance Parts Pros provided and I replaced the defective unit. Although it looked like a serious repair, the video provided all the detail that I needed to do it myself. 30 minutes later I had a fully functional water line! 

Replaced the water tank. Thanks for instructional provided. Saved about $300.00 in labor. 

My friend looked behind the crisper drawers (where the water was coming from). It was frozen there and thawing. Found the faulty water tanks and heater. 

The prior water tank assembly was freezing and I kinked the hose while defrosting it. Needed to replace the tank assembly to restore the water spigot flow. The instruction video on the website was very good and made me take on the challenge with confidence. 

Changed the carbon filter. that is post iron filter. We are on well water. We had the iron filter in the basement rebedded (it was bad). Ran bleach solution through lines, ran vinegar through lines. The taste was still off. The water treatment guy said something must have gotten in the water holding tanks and was not being flushed out. We tasted the water coming from the copper line behind the refrig and it was fine. As a last resort, my husband replaced the holding tanks. The number of tubes at the back was not the same as the video, but the video showed how and what to disconnect. The water tastes great!!! Thank you for the part and the video! We had been using bottled water for 3 weeks and I was even pricing out a new refrigerator. This was money well spent! 

We replaced the Water Tank Assembly. 

On-going issue for years. Have installed the defrost parts to allow the water to run into the evaporator tray below but water was still accumulating inside the fridge. Just changed the water tanks but did not fix the problem. Tech now suggests that I need a new defroster cover assembly since the metal parts are corroded. I've covered most of the metal parts with silver tape and the water leakage has slowed but still remains. Very frustrating. The AppliancePartsPros folks are awesome and the video to replace the tank was spot-on. Took less than an hour to replace but again, did not fix the problem - through no fault of yours. Will definitely shop here again for parts and installation help.
