How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5183285 / DA97-11117A Refrigerator Ice Bucket And Auger Assembly

Purchased replacement part. Inserted and voila, perfect fit and fix! Ice!

The title says it all. We love our Samsung fridge, especially the ice crusher. We probably go through a whole tray or two per day. Needless to say, when it gives us fits we start getting PTSD. lol I dreaded calling a technician just because of work force delays and that little thing called money. Replacing the ice bucket was a easy repair. 

EXTREMELY simple. Pulled out the old assembly and inserted the new. Took a minute...tops!

We've got a Samsung with one of those Space Saver ice makers. This is the second time it's stopped working. Last time was 2017. Ordered a new ice maker and it arrived THE NEXT DAY! I was not expecting that, but was very appreciative. Secured water and power. Grabbed my Number 2 Philips and removed the screw for the side cover. Removed the cover, unplugged the larger electrical plug, and then pulled the entire unit out. The new one went right in place and locked into position. Reconnected the electrical plug, replaced the panel and screw. Installed the ice bucket and restored water and power. It took less than 10 minutes. A few hours later and I've got my first ice dropping into the bucket. 

Easy out and the new one went in like butter. The best part was the service and the shipping was impeccably fast.... We are back in business making ice. Thank you
