How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4224485 / DE64-00760A Microwave Door Latch Hook

I watched a video on you tube and determined my microwave door latch was most likely broken(they are made of plastic). I removed the existing latch, and sure enough, the plastic on the latch was broken where the spring attaches to latch. I found the part number on the broken latch, and ordered a new one. Replaced 

Using just one screwdriver (or any flat bladed tool), I popped out the trim as recommended by others and reattached the spring to the replacement part and positioned the replacement part as appropriate; the entire repair was less than five minutes. This company was awesome with a great website and very quick delivery of an inexpensive part. 

Ordered the replacement part. recieved the part in a timely manner. Followed the easy instructions on youtube for the replacement. 

Removed the interior door trim and replaced latch. Used stiff putty knife for trim. 

Ordered the Key-D latch piece. unsnapped the internal door cover, reattached the spring to the new piece and reset it in the door slot. reinstalled the cover back on. I also replaced the charcoal filter at this time which was as simple as removing to screws to the upper vent cover and sliding the new one in. 

Found a You Tube video that described the problem and the fix. The repair was super easy: 1)Used a butter knife to remove inner door trim. 2)Took out broken part (Key-D). It's plastic and broke where the return spring attached (midway). 3)Ordered new part which was a perfect replacement. 4)Took all of 30 seconds to install new part and replace inner door trim. Costs including express shipping @ $15 (Part only cost $3) 

Ordered part on Sunday, received it on Tuesday AM and it was good to go by noon. We were surprised that we missed the use of the microwave as much as we did, and so pleased with the super quick shipment. This is our new go-to site.
