How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4337066 / DG44-01002A Top Burner Control For Range, Infinite Switch

Replaced with much help from APP to identify and confirm that I had the right part. 

I ordered the infinite switch from AppliancePartsPros.com and my son exchanged the old for the new in a matter of minutes and now it works the way it is supposed to work. AppliancePartsPros.com is a model for other businesses on how to do business. The site is well designed, simple to use, and easy to select the part needed. They responded to my email when I wanted to make sure I was ordering the part I needed and the part was sent out immediately as it was in stock. 

Took the panel off the back of the control panel (after turning off the power) disconnected the old regulator and installed the new one. It took less that 15 minutes. BUT the new regulator I got had to be turned 180 degrees (upside down) in order to align the knob with the face plate on the stove. Not an issue but I did have to unbundle some of the wires inside the control panel in order to facilitate turning the regulator upside down. It works just fine. This is a Samsung issue and not and Appliance Parts Pros issue. 

Replaced the heating regulator switch. 

Replaced the infinite switch. I turned off the power. Pulled out the unit. Unplugged range. Removed upper panel 5 screws. Removed knob then two screws from the front. Moved wires one at a time from old to new 6 wires. Then reversed the process. 

Installed new switch. 

I removed the back panel, Removed the knob then replaced the switch. Plugged in the wires. 

I replaced the control for the third time. This burner control has failed 3 times in 6 years. The process was very simple. Remove back panel, 3 screws; pull off control knob, unscrew 2 screws, move each wire from broken controller to the new one, put back together. 1 tip: remember which side of the control is top. I put it in 180 degrees off and had to undo the 2 screws and flip. 

Easy fix with a screwdriver. Match the plugs that are all labeled and replace switch. 

Ordered my new part from appliance parts pros and was able to get it replaced within a few minutes.
