How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5577180 / DC34-00024B Washer Door Lock Assembly

Didn't need the door lock bezel, as I thought, but needed the cover switch and door switch assembly. Removal of old parts and installation of new parts was a breeze, just like the videos on Appliance Parts Pros site. From start to finish it took me about 15 minutes to swap out the parts. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros. I would recommend this though: I ordered all three parts at the same time, and all three parts arrived at different times over three different days!!!!! 

I removed and replaced the unit. The new door switch assembly did not align and snap into the cover plate as the original door switch assembly. I tweaked some of the plastic areas to make it fit. Beyond that the new unit is working properly. 

I got online with AppliancePartsPros.com. I didn't shop around much, but the pricing seemed reasonable. They offered quick delivery AND they had an amazing tutorial on how to replace the part. I was about to leave on a trip, leaving my wife and kids without a washing machine. I was able to watch the video a few times with my wife before I departed so she would be comfortable making the repair on her own. Pretty amazing! 

I asked someone to fix it for me. It was an easy fix and didn’t take long at all. As soon as it was fixed, I was able to do laundry and haven’t had a problem since. 

I ordered a new door lock assembly and watched the install video , and when it came in , which was a timely manner, I installed just like the video said . Piece of cake , and saved myself a service call . Thanks for providing the video and the correct parts I needed . You will be my go to place for appliance parts. 

Ordered the door latch electrical assembly, disconnect power cord from outlet, removed the wire ring from the door entry rubber boot, removed 3 screws from the latch assembly from the exterior, one from the door push button and two from the door latch. Unplug three electrical connectors install new assembly in reverse order, plug in power cord and your ready to go. 

Replaced the door sensor as shown in the video on AppliancePartsPros.
