We, too, have the cracked lid on our Cabrio (Grey with black lid) like HUNDREDS of others we've found on the internet. We've been limping along for several years now on the crack/warped lid. Fearing ours would break and spread glass all around, we finally decided to try this fix provided by other customers who reviewed this on your website.
We purchased parts based on what others with similar models suggested. We ordered two new (2) Lid Hinge Arms (old ones won't work) WP8563964 (AP6004844), and four (4) new screws WPW10119828 (AP6015313), and a new WHITE METAL LID: WP8572026 (AP6013408) In August 2019, I paid $170 for the parts AND $23 overnight shipping. It arrived the next day. We needed a TORX bit and a screwdriver. Easy Peasy. No more pushing the lid down each time so that it locks! No risk of glass breaking in my washer.
The white metal lid does not match perfectly with the silver/gray washer. The old lid was black trimmed glass. What a shame that Whirlpool did not stand behind their product. All they had to do was create a BLACK version of this lid and my washer would look beautiful, too. But at least it now FUNCTIONS. Shame on Whirlpool! Thank you so much AppliancePartsPros.com !
