Melia C Springfield , TN May 18, 2015 Upper agitator wasn't working I ordered the kit that not only replaced the agitator dogs but the rest of the assembly as well. It was incredibly easy! I don't normally try to fix anything other than changing the batteries or bulb but after watching the handy video, this was so simple that I had to try it! AND it worked! I literally saved myself over a $1,000 by purchasing a $17 part! My washer works just like new and I couldn't be happier! I ordered part #5452690 and it fit like a charm! It arrived in 2 days! I had a terrible time finding the model number for my Whirlpool Stylemaster No. 4217141 Rev A model and now I feel so silly. The model number is under the lid, like literally open the lid and look UNDER it at the tub. The model info was right there all along! I had argued and seen many other reviews where people couldn't find it so I felt justified with my frustration until I bent down a bit and saw the label. That was the hardest part of my repair, lol. Edward D Boca Raton , FL February 08, 2020 Washing machine making loud humming sound when agitating I started by removing the old agitator, which was more difficult than it should have been because the head of the bolt had rusted badly. A 7/16" socket would not grab the bolt, so I had to use the next smaller metric size to remove it. Taking the agitator apart revealed several suspicious parts so I decided to just order a complete replacement. It only took a few minutes to replace the agitator, now that I knew how to remove the old one. I have one suggestion for AppliancePartsPros to consider. All of the parts arrived in a box but the replacement agitator has a few parts at the top that fell out of the top and were loose in the box. Fortunately, nothing was lost, but something bad could have easily happened. I suggest putting a wad of paper in the top of the agitator in the future. This should keep the loose parts from falling out. One thing that was not a pleasant surprise for me was how expensive the agitator grease is. A small container is almost $27. It seems to me that this ought to be $5 or less, but perhaps this is an area where the manufacturer makes some big bucks. Anyway, dealing with AppliancePartsPros was easy (I have done it before) and I would recommend them to everyone! Michael F Charleston , SC February 01, 2016 The top agitator was agitating me but not the clothes The website had an easy to follow video, that made the repair an easy chore. My only complaint was the cost of that tiny container of white grease. Seems you could find a supplier that could furnish a small tube of it for quite a bit less money. With that said, this is still one of the most helpful, easy to deal with sites, I have ever used. This was my 3rd or 4th repair, and each was a great experience.
