How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013720 / WP9706648 Speed Control Assembly

Replaced the Control assy and the hall effect sensor. Easy peasy!

Purchased new speed control board. 7 screws. 4 connectors. Easy swap. Well worth the money. Appliance works like new. 

I installed a new speed control assembly. Took about ten minutes. Watched a you tube video on how to do it. Wife was very happy; it was still my fault for not doing it sooner. 

After watching the repair video, I ordered the replacement Speed Control Assembly. The only unanswered question was if I owned the old style or the new style. My machine was about 10 years old and it is the new style which made the repair much easier. Total repair time was about 10 minutes as the video gave me all the answers I needed. 

We took this part, and replaced the one our KitchenAid-Professional series. It's a very straight forward process. Just unplug the old one, and plug-in the new one. 

Easy swap of the part solved my problem. 

Replaced the speed control board. My KP26 had the newer speed board already so I did not need to rewire with a new power cord - just unplugged the old board and plugged in the new one. The YouTube video from this company was essential. 

Replaced gear parts, worked great. Shipping was amazingly fast. Will use APP.com for future parts.
